Segue Communications – For Websites that Work
Increase your traffic and turn your visitors into customers.
Segue Communications specializes in content marketing, search engine optimization, and information architecture to deliver results for your company. And we will build a website you will be proud of.
“What’s in it for me?”
A great website with well-crafted content answers that question. It tells your visitors how you can solve their problem. It also invites them to take another step, offering a call-to-action to start a business relationship or make a sale.
Before you build or update your website, consider this: The Internet is all about information. Whether you need a new site or want to improve your existing site, we help you identify your ideal client and determine the strongest marketing messages that will engage and invite them to do business with you. We write powerful, engaging, optimized content, incorporating those targeted keywords that will help search engines find your site. We will create a plan for implementing the site development, design a site blueprint (what the “biz” calls Information Architecture), and work with your techies to complete the project.
Through detailed documentation and content maps, including project estimates and payment terms, we make each step clear to you and the development team, assuring you get the site you expect.
Building an effective website can be intimidating if you are new at it. I do my best to make it as clear and easy as possible for you. I strive for complete customer satisfaction, in both the process and the product. You’ll like working with me!

A good website doesn’t happen by accident. A good strategic web plan will make your website clear and easy to navigate, focused on the visitor’s needs and optimized for maximum conversion rates and search engine rankings.
SITE MAP (Information Architecture)
A good website is inviting and easy to navigate. Your visitors find what they’re searching for quickly and easily. They will be more likely to take the action you offer.
A good website communicates clearly to your visitors why they are there and what your company can do for them. The content is easy to understand and jargon-free. It tells your visitors they have found what they are looking for. The web content is optimized for search engines (SEO), using keyword phrases in the most natural manner possible.
Building an effective website can be challenging for most folks. I work with you through the site development and make sure your site is what you expect. First we establish your site’s purpose and develop a plan to achieve it. We work together to create a plan that clearly describes the site map or “blueprint,” the pages, the development plan and timeline, detailed specifications, cost estimates, and payment terms.
SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION
Web content must be written both for search engines and for your visitors. Integrating your targeted keyword phrases into copy in a way that is informative and engaging is the trick. And in some cases, it is a trick. You see, Google has become very savvy at determining what it thinks a person wants to see. Terms I enter into Google may bring up different results than the terms you enter.
So I invest my time in good research, a thorough understanding of your company and your goals, and well-crafted, informative content. We work together to identify the terms that best represent your organization and that we think visitors will enter into search engines to find you. But we don’t count on that to get traffic.
These days, attracting quality website visitors isn’t about optimizing for a handful of keyword phrases. It’s about having great content that folks want to read and that will compel them to take action. I can help you with that.
And rankings reports are very out of fashion now. These reports don’t tell you which keywords people actually used to find your site and which ones really matter. You want content that answers the questions and needs of your target market. Top placement on Google won’t gauge your success at that.
Sure, you still want to incorporate those terms your potential customers are entering into search engines. But when you think about it, isn’t it really a guessing game? You also want to get the word out in other ways about your business. That’s why you need to implement a varied marketing strategy.
I have known Donna for many years and consider her an essential resource regarding my marketing. We’ve recently completed a major redesign of my web site, with which I am very pleased. She is creative, easy to work with, dependable, and of the highest integrity. I value our relationship and look forward to working with her in the future.

A New Life Chiropractic
Inviting Donna’s input and professional skill was one of the best investments I’ve made. Her work has not only been thorough, but insightful and inspiring. She took an interest in what I was doing, helped me clarify what she heard me saying, and addressed my immediate needs with precise and very personal support. I will turn to her again as my needs develop – and thanks to her encouragement my business will develop. It will also expand in a direction that is satisfying to me.

Meet Your Web Designer
Aloha, I’m Harrison.
I am the web designer for Segue Communications, where I build websites with “aloha” from my home base on the volcanic side of Big Island, Hawaii.
My philosophy in design is simple: I help clients “bring to life” their business branding online.
With 8+ years of WordPress design and graphic design experience, I bring harmony to the technical aspects with the visual aspects of web design. Web designing is multi-dimensional and to truly build a successful website requires digging deep into what the online presence will “solve”.
I look forward to bringing your existing business or new ideas to full fruition with Segue Communications.
With much aloha,
